It is our intention to publish bimonthly news of the activities of the Carl Lutz\u00a0\u00a0Foundation in order to keep our friends informed.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Those interested in receiving this update are requested to write, stating this, to the following address:<\/p>\n
Our permanent exhibition at the Glass House is open every day between the hours of\u00a0\u00a01PM \u2013 4PM.<\/p>\n
Our mobile exhibit can\u00a0\u00a0be visited at present in New York\u00a0\u00a0at the Park East Synagogue.<\/p>\n

At the Fazekas High School in Budapest we have placed an exhibit, accompanied by works of art, which is called “Visas For Life.”\u00a0\u00a0It illustrates the diplomatic efforts on behalf of the Jews\u00a0\u00a0in the Glass House. At the start of the exhibition are the words of Dr. Janos Hovari, spokesman for the Secretary of the Foreign Office,\u00a0\u00a0Dr. Peter Bihari (professor of history) and words from Laszlo Kucsak,, vice-president of the independent education committee of the capitol and a member of the Hungarian Parliament.<\/p>\n

The Klezmer\u00a0\u00a0orchestra, “The Klezmer Fazekas Band” played traditional Jewish music conducted by Erika Jakucs.\u00a0\u00a0The exhibition will be shown starting in the Fall of this year in other schools around the city.<\/p>\n
On the Hungarian Memorial Day , when victims of the Holocaust were honored, our organization cited the names\u00a0\u00a0of two Portugese diplomats who rescued Jews \u2013 the envoy Sampaio Garrido and the secretary, Carlos Branquinho.\u00a0\u00a0Together with a city official, our representative placed a commemorative plaque on the face of house #5 on the bank of the Danube which also served as a haven for Jews.<\/p>\n
On the 28th of April, 2011 tdhe Jerusalem Post printed an article regarding a group of people in Israel who intend to build a “copy” of\u00a0\u00a0the Glass House (in Israel) and to place in it a permanent exhibit of the history of the Jews of Hungary during the Holocaust.<\/p>\n
